College? Check.

Things I am celebrating this week:
  • showing up on my university's website
  • completing my very last exam and very last term paper
  • skipping class for the first time this semester to lay out with my roommate
  • attending my Last. Class. Ever.
  • finally having potential job opportunities
  • realizing that there is life after college, even if it doesn't involve moving to NYC the day after graduation
What are you celebrating this week?

Meg Cabot Contest Winner

Because all of the entries were equally funny and so fabulous, I ended up using a random number generator to narrow down the winner of the Meg Cabot contest.

Tania won the $100 Zappos gift card -- and I found a new favorite blog! She's the girl behind What Would a Nerd Wear, which is one of the sweetest style blogs I have come across. The way Tania, "a bike-riding bookworm trying to make better (and more creative) use of a sometimes-vanilla closet," puts together her classic wardrobe is clever and undeniably stylish. Plus, she owns the same two Liberty of London skirts from Target's little girl's department that I have. And she has assured me that I can pull them off even though I'm a year or two over the age of 10.
Congratulations, Tania! I can't wait to see what you end up buying at Zappos!

Such Great Heights

I remember a teacher dramatically sending me to the principal's office in sixth grade for wearing a skirt that was deemed too short. Although I embarrass easily, I continued to have run-ins with the principal throughout my education for the same offense. If colleges had dress codes, I would probably have really racked up the detentions by now.
I tell myself that because I am short I can pull off short. Whether this is true or not, I love minis. Mini minis. And as much as I also love Anthropologie, their dresses and skirts are usually too long (or, um, tasteful?) for me.

These two, however, are perfect. Lace and polka dots and ruffles, oh my! Like my Liberty of London dress that went from dowdy to adorable with just a pair of sewing scissors, I could chop the bottom layer off and take this dress and skirt to... new heights.

Banished To The Library

For the next few days, my life can be summed up in a single word: library.

I have a lit exam, a research paper, and a final website prototype due during the next few days, but don't feel sorry for me. It's a great excuse to take advantage of my university's ancient but awesome library while I'm still a student.

Too bad I don't have a week's worth of Marc by Marc Jacobs outfits, like this entire Shopbop lookbook, to wear while I frolic in the stacks.

Sucker for Sales

Even though my logical almost-adult mind is never fooled, J. Crew's final sales tempt me every single time. The shipping is always super pricey, and I usually fall for things I don't need, but regardless, I keep coming back for more.
I needed a new pair of flip flops, since my last ones were left on the cruise, and I wasn't about to spend ten dollars to ship a single pair of sandals. Another item was obviously necessary.
So that's how I ended up with the pretty crystal flower necklace, marked down more than half its original price. I wish I had bought these other two baubles and a bottle of mint candy apple Essie polish, too, but there's always next time.
