There are a number of genres of music that Scene kids normally listen to and these are normally one of the following:

• Techno, Happy Hardcore, Trance or Dance
• Electronic Punk Rock, Punk, Skate Punk, Pop Punk
• Classic Rock, Hard Rock or Rock • Deathcore or Hardcore Metal

Even though these are the types of music that Scene kids normally listen to, it is acceptable to listen to other types as the whole Scene thing is about being unique and individual and it is very “hip” to favour a new style of music every once in a while and having others following it after you.

One of the best ways to find music and to be more specific, generalised bands and songs that the Scene kids listen to then it is a good idea to check out the music section of the Scene kids MySpace or FaceBook. This is an especially good tip for a beginner in the Scene world. By looking up the music that other people listen to you can find where to start with regards to being a real Scene kid.
Trying out new things is a very cool thing to do when you are a Scene kid so by looking at different bands or genres of music than what you would normally listen to is a good thing to do. You could even try mixing different styles of music yourself to be considered really into the whole Scene thing.
